2009-2010 Buick Enclave and 2009-2010 GMC Acadia Recall

2010 Buick Enclave

Now you may think this is weird that I am informing you of this but I would not be a decent man or dealer if I didn’t let you know when there was a recall. It is my job and duty to protect my customers. GM has issued a recall on the 2009-2010 Buick Enclaves and GMC Acadias, as well as the same model year Chevrolet Traverse, and Saturn Outlook. Now, even though I don’t sell Chevrolets or Saturns it is possible that you could have purchased one off my used lot so I want you to be fully aware.

General Motors is recalling over 207,000 vehicles due to a problem with the second-row seat belts in which an occupant would think the belt is latched when it isn’t.

The problem occurs with the second-row seat side trim shield that restricts the upward rotation of the seat belt buckle when the seatback is returned to seating position after being folded flat. The buckle could make contact with the seat frame and become damaged as the seatback is being returned to its upright position. When this occurs, the passenger may find that additional effort is needed to return the seat to its seating position. If force is applied, the buckle cover could partially depress the release button and may not latch or appear jammed. – Consumer Reports

Dealers will modify the second row seat side trim shield and if the buckle is damaged, it will be replaced. Owners can contact Buick, at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, GMC at 1-866-966-9463, and Saturn at 1-800-972-8876.

You can always bring your Buick or GMC to Bill DeLord Autocenter and I’ll have my service department correct the issue. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to give me a call.
